I was speaking to my grandmother and she told me the story of the Candy Lady, have any of you heard that story? It kinda creeps me out. I guess there was this lady named Clara Crane whose daughter was killed and she blamed her husband, so she killed him with poisoned caramels. She was sent to a mental hospital then was released because of overcrowding. A little later children started disappearing in her hometown. A rumor started going around that she was stealing them. They said that there was a Candy Lady who would leave bags of chocolates (caramels?) on their windowsills then lure her to her house with the promise of more. My grandmother said it was a story that parents would tell their children to enforce that you never take candy from strangers. Or go to a strangers house for that matter, haha. Have any of you heard this story before? I don't know if it is just a Texas thang.
